Right to Information

In accordance with the Right to Information Law published in the Official Gazette No. 25269 dated October 24, 2003, and the Regulation on the Implementation of the Right to Information Law published in the Official Gazette No. 25445 dated April 27, 2004, the procedures and methods for making applications under this law have been detailed. According to this regulation;

Application Procedure:

Applications for obtaining information made by natural and legal persons; For natural persons, the petition should include the applicant's name, residence address, while for legal persons, it should include the title, address, and authorization certificate of the legal person, and should be made to the information units of the institutions and organizations where the requested information or document is located.

Applications to be Made Electronically:

Applications made via electronic mail must be made by filling out the relevant petition forms published on the institution's page, specifying the applicant's full name, residence address, and T.C. identity number.

Nature of the Information or Documents to Be Requested:

The Information Request must relate to documents that are held or should be held by the institutions and organizations being applied to. However, the essential principle is that the requested information or documents should not disrupt the daily operations of the institution or organization and should not impose an unreasonable burden on the institution or organization.

Published or Publicly Disclosed Information and Documents:

 Information and documents published by institutions and organizations or disclosed to the public through publication, brochures, advertisements, and similar means cannot be subject to information requests.

Prohibition of Publishing Information and Documents:

 According to the regulation, the press cannot reproduce or use the information and documents accessed under the procedures and principles specified in the law and regulation for commercial purposes. The press cannot publish the information and documents without obtaining permission from the institution or organization that provided the information.

Acceptance, Evaluation, and Processing of Applications:

 Applications must be made in compliance with the law in order for the petition to be accepted. To ensure that the petition is filled out correctly, assistance can be requested from the information officers of the institution or organization. For electronic applications, the T.C. identity number will be checked and verified before the petition is processed.

Assistance to Applicants:

 Authorized personnel in the Information Request unit are responsible for assisting and guiding the applicants in using their rights.
