Nace Code Change Procedures

What is the NACE code?
The NACE code, meaning "Statistical Classification of Economic Activities," is a coding system created in Europe for the purpose of generating and disseminating statistics related to economic activities. The NACE code application, established by the European Union, is related to the "International Standard Industrial Classification (ISIC) of All Economic Activities," making it an important tool for comparing statistical data worldwide.
As part of the alignment with the European Union, Turkey has also begun using the NACE code. Since 2013, the Ministry of Finance's Revenue Administration has been using NACE codes.
The NACE code is six digits long, and it is used to determine the hazard class of business activities, which is why it is also known as the "six-digit activity code."
Who determines the NACE code?
The NACE code is determined according to the regulations published in the Official Gazette on January 19, 2005, and in the temporary 3rd article of the regulations published on June 3, 2012, regarding "Classification of Professions in Chambers/Commodity Exchanges." The responsibility for determining the activity codes and related professional groups for members of chambers and exchanges is assigned to the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB).

Main NACE Code Change Request
The requested primary activity code (NACE) must align with the business topics registered by the Sivas Trade Registry Directorate.
If the activity code does not match, the business must first update its registration with the Sivas Trade Registry Directorate, and then request that the requested activity code be reflected on the tax certificate from the relevant tax office. A petition requesting the NACE code change must be submitted to the Chamber, along with the tax certificate and a taxpayer registration document from the Tax Office.

Additional NACE Code Request
The requested additional NACE code must also match the business topics registered by the Sivas Trade Registry Directorate.
If the activity code does not match, the business must first update its registration with the Sivas Trade Registry Directorate, and then submit the request for the additional NACE code along with the Tax Office Mükellefiyet Belgesi (Taxpayer Document) to the Member Registry Unit.
