Disclosure Text on the Protection of Personal Data for Members/Visitors of the Sivas Chamber of Commerce and Industry

The purpose of this text is to explain the procedures and principles regarding the processing of personal data by the Sivas Chamber of Commerce and Industry (STSO) for our Members/Visitors whose personal data is processed.
This text will explain how your personal data is collected, used, shared, and other matters as listed below.

Data Controller
Your personal data is processed by our Company, located at Kaleardı Mahallesi Zihni Taştan Sokak No:2 Merkez&SİVAS, as the data controller, in accordance with the Law on the Protection of Personal Data No. 6698 (“Law”) as explained below.

How Is Your Personal Data Collected?
The personal data listed above is collected through electronic communication tools such as the web and phone, as well as through printed/electronic information and documents provided by customers.

What Legal Reasons Are There for Collecting and Processing Your Personal Data?
Your personal data is collected based on the legal grounds stated in Article 5 of the Law on the Protection of Personal Data, as required for the realization of the purposes stated above by the data processors acting on behalf of the Sivas Chamber of Commerce and Industry:

- Explicitly foreseen by laws,
- If directly related to the establishment or execution of a contract, it is necessary to process personal data of the parties to the contract,
- It is mandatory for the data controller to fulfill a legal obligation,
- It is necessary to process the data for the establishment, exercise, or protection of a right, and
- It is necessary to process the data for the legitimate interests of the data controller, provided that it does not violate the fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject,

are the legal reasons for collecting and processing personal data.

To Whom and For What Purposes Can Your Personal Data Be Transferred?
As a general rule, your personal data will not be shared with third parties by STSO. Your personal data will not be processed or transferred to third parties for marketing or promotional purposes without your explicit consent. Your personal data may be shared with relevant ministries such as the Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Trade, and domestic third parties for the execution of sales and post-sale support activities, increasing customer satisfaction, invoicing, and accounting operations, and other legal reasons in accordance with the conditions and purposes specified in Articles 8 and 9 of the Law on the Protection of Personal Data.
When your data is transferred to foreign countries, care is taken to ensure that the data protection laws of the country to which the data is transferred are at least equivalent to those in Turkey, and it is requested that the third party ensures that they have taken all the necessary technical and administrative measures to protect the data.
- To STSO’s business partners, suppliers, shareholders, group, and subsidiaries,
- To individuals or organizations authorized under the Tax Procedure Law, Turkish Commercial Code, Code of Obligations, and other legislation,
- To public institutions and organizations such as the Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Trade, and other legally authorized bodies, administrative authorities, and judicial authorities,
- To regulatory and supervisory authorities, official institutions,
- To your authorized representatives,
- To lawyers, tax consultants, and auditors, and third-party consultants we receive advice from,
your data may be shared with third parties.

How Long Will Your Personal Data Be Stored?
Your personal data will be stored for as long as required by law and as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected. We comply with the criteria we set for determining the storage period for each personal data category. Once the storage period expires, your personal data will be immediately deleted, anonymized, or destroyed.
 

Changes to the Disclosure Text
This disclosure text may be updated from time to time by STSO. In the event of significant changes to the disclosure text, we will inform you via email or by publishing it on our website.

Your Rights as a Data Subject
Regarding your personal data, you have the following rights:
- Learn whether your personal data is being processed,
- Request information about your processed personal data,
- Learn the purpose of processing your personal data and whether it is used in accordance with the purpose,
- Learn the third parties to whom your personal data is transferred, both domestically and abroad,
- Request the correction of incomplete or incorrect personal data,
- Request the deletion or destruction of your personal data in accordance with the conditions stipulated in the Law on the Protection of Personal Data,
- When requesting the correction of incomplete or incorrect data or the deletion or destruction of your personal data, request that this be communicated to third parties to whom your personal data has been transferred,
- Object to a result that occurs against you as a result of the processing of your personal data solely through automated systems, and
- Request compensation for damages arising from the unlawful processing of your personal data.

How Can You Apply Regarding Your Personal Data?
You can submit your applications regarding the rights listed above to us via email at information@sivastso.org.tr, through notarized mail, or using other methods specified in the Personal Data Protection Law. Your application will be responded to as soon as possible and no later than thirty days, depending on the nature of the request.
